Students Clinch Top Honours in CSEC and CAPE Exams

Awards of excellence awardees

The Vieux-Fort Comprehensive Secondary School proudly celebrates the outstanding achievements of its students who were recently recognized at the 2024 National Awards of Excellence. Annually, the Ministry of Education, Sustainable Development, Innovation, Science, Technology and Vocational Training awards students who perform remarkably at exams offered by CXC.

Demonstrating academic prowess and dedication, VFCSS students excelled in various Caribbean Secondary Education Certificate (CSEC) and Caribbean Advanced Proficiency Examination (CAPE) subjects, earning accolades for top national and regional placements. The performance of the school was beyond outstanding, leading to honorable acknowledgement from both our Prime Minister and Minister of Education.

We are pleased to announce that  Adelia Henry has been honored with the prestigious Island Scholarship award for 2023, recognizing her outstanding academic performance at the 2023 CAPE. Adelia’s dedication to excellence serves as an inspiration to her peers and reflects the school’s commitment to nurturing future leaders.

Additionally, Hailey Boriel, who is currently studying at Massachusetts Institute of Technology,  was  awarded the Island Scholarship for 2021, based on her stellar performance at the CAPE in that year. This showcases the consistent track record of academic excellence at the Vieux-Fort Comprehensive Secondary School.

In the CSEC category, the following VFCSS students captured the top national awards for outstanding performances:

In the CAPE category, the following candidates secured first place on the island in their respective subject areas in Unit 2:
